Transformer, utility pole catch fire in Elk Grove Village

A utility pole and a transformer caught fire Tuesday afternoon in Elk Grove Village. The transformer fire, which was also on a utility pole 3 feet from the B & M Plastic Inc. building at 2001 Arthur Ave., was reported around 4 p.m., Elk Grove Village Fire Department Battalion Chief Mark Sellers said.
