New Elgin police website will provide gateway to crime stats, investigations

In an effort to increase transparency, the Elgin Police Department will unveil a new web portal with all of its crime data, current investigations and use-of-force information. One stat for residents to keep an eye on is the number of calls involving shots fired, which stands at 46 so far this year.
