Legislature's Swearing in Heavy on Symbolism, Selflessness
Illinois’ new Legislature got underway Wednesday with pledges of selflessness laden with the symbolism. Leaders of the 177 members of the 103rd General Assembly heard advice from Abraham Lincoln, Moses, a recently departed mother and a young son.
