Fenwick coach fired over failure to do background check

Fenwick fired football coach Gene Nudo on Friday, just a day before the Friars' first-round state playoff game against Payton. The school received information that in 2016 he allowed an assistant coach to "attend a couple of football practices and assist on the sidelines during some games at the end of the season" without a background check.
