Women’s halfway house in Cheektowaga closing

 
CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) — For many years, the Canaan House served as a place for women to overcome their drug or alcohol addictions. But due to the lack of funding, the house will soon close it’s doors. The small halfway house in Cheektowaga will close on Tuesday after more than 20 years of service to the community.
