UPDATE: Skyway reopened after shutting down due to visibility issues

UPDATE: The Skyway has reopened Tuesday afternoon after closing around 11:15 a.m. due to visibility issues. 
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Visibility issues have shut down the Skyway in both directions.
Buffalo police made the announcement on Twitter around 11:15 a.m. Tuesday.
As of 2:10 p.m., Route 5 eastbound is closed from Route 179 to Church Street (7.2 miles) and westbound, Route 5 is closed from Church Street to Route 179 (6.7 miles).
