Upcoming Outer Harbor plans include beach

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — There are new plans for Buffalo’s Outer Harbor, including a beach for western New Yorkers to enjoy.
The beach will be sand-only, not for swimming, as water quality standards have not yet met the threshold for swimming safety.
Visitors will instead be able to play in the sand and set up beach equipment, like chairs and blankets. Buffalo will employ similar features to a Toronto beach opened on an industrial pier five years ago.
