Sun-splashed parade highlights Canal Fest 2016

TONAWANDA and NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) — One of the highlights of the 34th annual Canal Fest in the Tonawandas stepped off Tuesday evening in ideal weather for this huge outdoor family event…the Charles Fleishman Canal Fest Parade.
Thousands of people grabbed lawn chairs and blankets to secure seats along the parade route which starts in Tonawanda, crosses the Erie Canal, and ends in North Tonawanda. Canal Fest is a celebration of the canal which binds these two communities.
