Strong winds, high waves make for dangerous waters

EVANS, N.Y. (WIVB)- Monday might have been sunny, but it was a dangerous day to venture into Lake Erie.
“There’s very, very strong undertows. And if you’re not a person who is familiar with this area, familiar with the water, the water is extremely powerful,” said Town of Evans police officer Thomas Crupe.
Crupe works with the Marine Rescue Unit, and remembers when tragedy struck in the area almost one year ago.
