Stranded deer rescued from ice in South Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A team of Buffalo police, firefighters and members of the SPCA Animal Rescue team rescued a deer trapped on the ice near the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens Friday afternoon.
The young buck was spotted just before 10:30 a.m. after his hooves broke through the ice on South Park Lake.
The Buffalo police Underwater Recovery Team worked in the bitter cold to free the stranded animal. Team members went on to the ice and were able to tranquilize the deer and get
