State, local officers crack down on impaired driving

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- New York State is getting tougher on impaired drivers.
The “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign kicked off Thursday in downtown Buffalo.
The crackdown spans statewide and targets not only impaired drivers, but also distracted drivers.
The campaign lasts 20 days, but specific attention is being paid to Labor Day weekend. State and local police are teaming up with Canadian law enforcement to target heavily traveled areas along the border during that weekend.
