State loan forgiveness program starts Thursday

ALBANY, N.Y. (WIVB) — A state program designed to provide debt relief to recent New York college graduates will be available starting Thursday, December 31.
The NYS Get on Your Feet Loan Forgiveness Program allows recent graduates to have relief from their student loans for two years. People who participate in a federal income-driven repayment plan with payments “generally capped at 10 percent” of their income can participate in the program.
