Snowy roads to ring in New Year

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Many Western New Yorkers were waking up with a Lake Effect Snow Advisory in effect on New Year’s Day, and that was creating some difficult driving conditions around the area.
Conditions around the area varied pretty widely Friday morning, from just a light dusting of snow in the Northtowns, to a fully snow-covered scene in Elma. With snow covering many roadways, it was all too easy for drivers to lose control.
