Shoplifting suspect hides in storm drain

BATAVIA N.Y. (WIVB) – The Town of Batavia Fire Department and Genesee County Sheriff’s Office spent a good portion of Friday afternoon rescuing a shoplifting suspect from a storm drain.
The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at approximately 3:05 p.m. from Kmart Loss Prevention. They indicated they were trying to stop two subjects who allegedly stole merchandise from the store. Both subjects did stop briefly, then one quickly ran away.
