Sandfly population boom is causing a buzz
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A population boom of sandflies is bugging some Western New York residents.
The insects, also known as “caddisflies” are especially frequent near bodies of water. Caddisflies have aquatic larvae.
There was also a caddisfly population boom around the same time in 2016.
Caddisfly populations can vary over the years.
