Rescue efforts underway for stranded deer in South Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A team of Buffalo police, firefighters and members of the SPCA Animal Rescue team are trying to rescue a deer trapped on the ice near the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens.
The deer was spotted around 8 a.m. after its hooves broke through the ice on a pond.
Rescue workers are out in the bitter cold trying to free the stranded creature.
