Police: Home invader poses as utility worker, attacks victim and steals cash before leaving

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Police are investigating a home invasion on Normal Ave. from Thursday afternoon.
Around 3 p.m., police say someone posed as a utility worker and went to the home. Once there, the “utility worker” told people inside that there was a gas leak, so they let him in, police say.
Inside the home, authorities say the invader tied up and struck a victim. The victim was hospitalized for facial injuries and later released.
