Plans for inmate pheasant brooding program approved for Erie Co. Correctional Facility

ALDEN, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Erie County Sheriff’s Office is trying to better rehabilitate inmates at the county jail with a new pheasant brooding program.
Plans for the program were recently approved by the New York State Commission of Corrections after they were created over the Winter season.
The plan is to provide select inmates from the Service Action Corps with 1,000 day-old pheasant chicks that they would be responsible for taking care of until the birds are old eno
