Pedestrian hit, killed in Niagara County Friday morning

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene after being hit by a vehicle Friday morning in Newfane, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office said.A preliminary investigation found that the pedestrian was struck by a Freightliner truck on Hess Road, police said. Officials received the 911 call just after 10 a.m. When they arrived to the scene at the 2700 block of Hess Road, they performed lifesaving measures, but were not successful.The pedestrian was pronounced deceased.
