NYS cracking down on fake IDs, underage drinking

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — New York State is cracking down on fake IDs and underage drinking. The multi-agency effort has caught 400 people so far, and the campaign will continue until the end of the year.
It’s called “Operation Prevent”, and locally, some people felt the sting.  So far, the fake ID crackdown led to the arrest of roughly 200 people right here in Western New York. Officials are urging people, especially college students, it’s not worth the risk
