NY workers’ union approves 1-year contract with 2% raise

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — The New York State Public Employees Federation says its members have overwhelmingly voted in favor of a one-year agreement with the state while negotiations continue for a longer-term contract.
According to the union, that means members will get a 2 percent retroactive raise before the end of summer.
It represents more than 54,500 professional, scientific and technical employees of the state and other public and private employers.
