NY union ratifies 1-year contract agreement

NEW YORK (AP) — Members of the New York State Public Employees Federation have ratified a one-year contract that includes a 2 percent salary increase retroactive to April 1, 2015.
The union representing 53,000 state workers, including professional, scientific and technical employees, said Tuesday that 97 percent voted to ratify the agreement.
The union released a statement calling it a “positive start” as it continues to negotiate for a longer-term pact.
