New state law takes on “zombie” homes, this week

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A new state law takes effect Tuesday designed to crack down on the number of bank foreclosed “zombie” homes in New York. They are called “zombie” homes because after the banks foreclose on the mortgages, the owners abandon the property, and the bank does not finish the paperwork to take control.
