New program aims to boost food awareness, transparency

EDEN, N.Y. (WIVB)- It’s a simple sticker, that the state hopes will make a big designation.
The New York Grown & Certified Program is trying to boost transparency for the state’s produce.
“You go to the grocery store, you go in the marketplace and there’s lots of adjectives out there that describe things, but they really are just adjectives. So the other half of this is can we go in and look at labels and where they’re misleading can we define them,”
