Man pleads guilty to rape after attempting to flee trial

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Just as a rape victim who took the stand to testify to the crime, her assailant jumped from his seat and attempted to flee the courtroom.
That escape attempt led Emmanuel Jenkins to plead guilty in an ongoing trial after authorities linked him to multiple rapes and sexual assaults. Authorities say Jenkins preyed on women who may have worked as prostitutes to pay for drug addictions, leading them into dark or abandoned areas to assault them.
