Man accused of assaulting, sexually abusing victim

FRANKLINVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Franklinville man was accused of assaulting and sexually abusing another person.
On Monday, New York State police responded to a domestic call on Route 16 in the town and arrested 27-year-old George Merrell.
Troopers say he struck, choked and performed criminal sexual acts on a victim. In addition to that, authorities say he destroyed property and prevented the victim from calling 911.
