Lockport city parks declared tobacco free

 
LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) — Cigarette smoking is the leading cause of preventable disease and death in the United States, according to the CDC. North Park Junior High School students are hoping to decrease those numbers by banning smoking in Lockport City parks.
Lockport Common Council declared city parks, playgrounds and community pools tobacco- free Wednesday night during a regular meeting.
