Local lawmaker urges FAA to implement Flight 3407 safety rules
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Years after a flight tragically crashed, killing 50 people aboard Colgan Air Flight 3407, lawmakers and victims are still trying to improve the safety of air travel.
Rules aimed at improving airline safety have stalled out after being put forward to the Federal Aviation Administration. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand says the FAA is needlessly dragging its feet to implement the safety reforms.
