Local doctor calls Zika Virus growth “extraordinary”

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- It’s a rare virus transmitted by mosquitoes, and it’s not something American doctors are used to seeing.
The CDC wants to keep it that way, so it’s telling expectant mothers to postpone travel to Brazil, Colombia, El Salvador, French Guiana, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Martinique, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Suriname, Venezuela, and Puerto Rico.
For Western New Yorkers, this could mean putting Spring Break plans on hold.
