Landline phone service restored across WNY

NIAGARA COUNTY, N.Y. (WIVB) — A widespread utility failure prompted an alert message to be issued to thousands across western New York on Thursday morning but service has now been restored to all affected areas and organizations.
Officials said a widespread landline outage in Niagara County affected communication, including at the Niagara County Government and the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office. Emergency 911 lines were not affected.
