Kitchen fire causes damage on east side

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Firefighters were able to extinguish a blaze on Newburgh Ave. Friday morning.
The fire happened in a home’s kitchen around 3 a.m. and caused an estimated $35,000 in damage. Humidity made it difficult for firefighters to do their job.
It is not yet clear what caused the fire, but officials are investigating it.
The American Red Cross is assisting one person.
