Instant bear market: Dow falls over 1000 points Monday

New York, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell over 1000 points in early trading Monday.
Analysts had predicted a sharply down market for the day, with futures predicting a fall of over 600 points for the day; but the Dow fell 500 points in the very first minute of trading at 9:30 a.m.Before 9:35, the Dow lost about 1050 points, then recovered slightly.
Foreign market trading indicated Monday would be rough in the U.S.:China’s main index dropped 8.5 percent Monday; an
