Historic Batavia cemetery vandalized

BATAVIA, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Historic Batavia Cemetary Association says sometime between March and April, dozens of headstones were vandalized. Some of the headstones date back to the late 1800’s.
The cemetery association says most of Batavia’s earlier settlers are buried there.
Looking at the damage, some of the headstones that were knocked over appear to weigh hundreds of pounds. The damage is widespread and it spans across most of the cemetery.
