Governor Cuomo’s aide shot before West Indian Day parade dies

NEW YORK (AP) — An aide to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (KWOH’-moh) who was shot in the crossfire between two gangs hours before New York City’s West Indian Day parade has died.
Police say Carey Gabay (gah-BAY’) died Wednesday from his injuries. His family earlier had said he was declared brain dead.
The 43-year-old Harvard University-educated lawyer served as first deputy general counsel at the Empire State Development Corp.
