Former coach: Late UB defensive end had ‘rare quality’
AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) — Solomon Jackson, or “Solo,” as he was known to family and friends and teammates at the University at Buffalo, had a contagious smile and a will to be the best. But despite his successes between the lines, those who knew him well said he was humble both on and off the field.
The redshirt sophomore died Monday at Buffalo General Hospital, where he was rushed last week after suffering a medial emergency during a team’s conditioning session on Feb. 22.
