Driver who fatally struck Amherst man will not be charged

AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) — After an Amherst man was killed crossing Niagara Falls Boulevard weeks ago, police say that the driver who struck him will not be charged.
John Strasser, 61, was fatally hit by an SUV shortly before 6 a.m. on August 30.
The accident closed a stretch of the road for hours that morning.
Darkness could have been a factor in the crash, but alcohol or drugs were not suspected.
