Driver killed when car hits tree near MLK Park

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A driver died in a crash at the edge of Martin Luther King, Jr. Park late Friday night.
Police were called to Fillmore Avenue and East Parade just before midnight, where they found the car had hit a tree, according to a Buffalo Police spokesperson.
Accident investigators determined the car was traveling at a high rate of speed, hit a pole and then hit the tree, police say.
