Drive sober campaign nets 16 DWIs, hundreds of tickets

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — An initiative to crack down on unsafe drivers has made Erie County roads a little safer.
The Erie County Sheriff’s Office reports that its “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign resulted in 16 arrests for DWI between Aug. 20 and Sept. 7.
Deputies were also on the lookout for distracted drivers during the two-week period, handing out a total of 649 traffic summonses.
