Child rescued from sewer in south Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Crews responded to a scene in south Buffalo, where a 12-year-old girl was stuck in a sewer.
The incident happened at Rutland St. and S. Legion Dr. before 8:30 a.m.
First responders say that the sewer cover was missing and the girl fell in, breaking her ankle. She was stuck down there for an hour after falling 12 feet.
