Chautauqua County joins cause against microbeads
CHAUTAUQUA, N.Y. (WIVB) — The push to ban microbeads throughout western New York is expanding.
Chautauqua County has approved a new measure that will stop the sale of soaps and other products that contain tiny plastic microbeads.
Experts and environmentalists say the small beads pass through water filtration systems and pollute local waterways.
Erie County was the first to pass similar legislation.
