Canalside concert runs smoothly with tighter security measures

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Thousands piled into Canalside for the first free concert of the summer season Thursday night.This year concert goers experienced tighter security at the entrance gates. 
Police wanded guests as they entered the concert venue and all bags were searched to prevent any harmful items from getting inside. 
Organizers said the major police presence at Canalside is a deterrent to those who want to start trouble.
