BUFFALO POLICE: Two arrested in connection with Aug. 1 beating death

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Buffalo Police have arrested two people in connection with a fatal beating of a female in the 800 block of Niagara Street near Massachusetts earlier this month.
The beating occurred Aug. 1. Detectives say that there was a fight involving three people.
The victim, 39-year-old Jessica Garcia of Buffalo, was taken to ECMC that night. Authorities say she died the next day while at the hospital.
Arrested were Freddie Cortez, 22, and Michelis Romero, 23, both from Buffalo.
