Bond between handler and K-9 called ‘indescribable’

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A Norfolk, Virginia police K-9 was shot and killed in the line of duty on Monday morning. The death of an officer like K-9 Krijger is a tremendous loss for the department, and for the handler especially.
“To lose any partner, officer, K-9, or not, it’s a heartfelt reaction felt throughout the department that no one can put into words,” said Officer Jake Clark, an eight year veteran of the police department.
