Body recovered from Niagara Gorge

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) – A body was removed from the Niagara Gorge Tuesday after a hiker spotted it floating in the rapids of the Lower Niagara River, just above the whirlpool Tuesday afternoon.
The New York State Parks Police Swift Water Rescue Team located the body in the rapids, and the body was secured and removed from the Niagara Gorge by the Erie County Sheriff’s Department helicopter.
Niagara County Coroner Joseph Mantione took possession of the body. An autopsy will
