Amherst calls heroin, opiate use an “epidemic” in community

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Amherst Police say a town hall meeting will be held to discuss drug issues related to opiate and heroin use.
Police refer to the use of these drugs in the community as “an epidemic.” Members of the Amherst Police Department and a representative of InnerQuest Counseling will speak at the meeting.
The public meeting will last from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. and feature a resource fair and presentation. It will be followed by a question-and-answer s
