2 charged in dog theft after vehicle crash

LEROY, N.Y. (WIVB) — After they were involved in a vehicle crash, two people were charged with stealing a dog from an animal shelter.
Shortly before 10:30 p.m. Monday, the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office received word of a complaint sent to LeRoy police. A suspicious condition at a Kwik Fill station on Route 5 was reported, as well as a crash on Keeney Rd.
As authorities investigated, they learned that the same people were involved in the crash and the suspicious condition.
