River and backwater flooding continues

BATON ROUGE - Many area rivers are still above their previous record flood stages, but most area rivers are beginning to fall. Areas that need to continue monitoring river levels are residents south of Baton Rouge and south of I-12. Those residents near the Amite River in East Baton Rouge, Ascension, and Livingston parishes especially need to remain vigilant.The Comite River seems to be dropping and a fairly rapid pace, while the Amite River at Denham Springs is a little slower. The Tangipahoa a
