Report: 11-month-old dead after being left in hot car for hours

METAIRIE - An 11-month-old child is dead after her father left her in a car for hours Thursday, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office said.A spokesperson with the sheriff's office told WWL that the father, who hasn't been identified, left the girl in the vehicle earlier in the day before returning about 5:30 in the afternoon. By the time he returned, the child was unconscious.The girl was then taken to East Jefferson General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.Charges are pending ag
