Red Cross shelter in Baker to close by Friday

BAKER - The Red Cross-run shelter in the Baker Municipal Building Road will be closing at noon on Friday.About 30 people are living in the shelter, down from 200 a few weeks ago.Mayor Darnelle Waites told Tuesday's City Council meeting city officials are working with the Red Cross and the Federal Emergency Management Agency to find housing for those still in the shelter.The council also approved an ordinance to allow manufactured homes within city limits for up to 18 months to house those displa
