Motorcyclist dies in Pointe Coupee Parish crash

POINTE COUPEE – State Police say one man is dead after his motorcycle ran off the road and struck a mailbox in Pointe Coupee Parish Thursday.According to Louisiana State Police, the crash happened shortly after 11 p.m. on LA 1 south of LA 978 in Pointe Coupee Parish.Investigators say 34-year-old Anthony Freeman was driving northbound on LA 1 when “for unknown reasons” failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the roadway.
